Billet-doux – Series: #1, #2,  #3 & #4

(Billet-doux is French for love letters)

A series using love letters sent to me as a 19 year old woman.

I was intrigued by these correspondences for many reasons and wanted to recycle them into something memorable. Written on blue paper, they became the sky in the series of images. The viewer is taken in vicariously to imagine the love from one person to another or the story being told in each image.

All of the images were found in a suitcase of photographs of my ancestors.
