I have been in such turmoil for the last few years – watching our beloved country going through very tough times.
I decided, when looking around at my community, how fortunate I am to live in Des Plaines where people make it such a great place to live. Certainly – not everything is perfect our town….it’s a struggle to get things done BUT the basics are beautiful because of the interactions I have had over the years.
So – I thought we need to celebrate that fact. Let’s have a big party and really come together HENCE the ‘Masquerade Ball to Unmask Hunger’ was born. We are raising money for the Self-Help Closet & Pantry & we are going to have a blast.
Sometimes, your craziest ideas are the best – act on those ideas and make the world a better place!

Be careful what you wish for….
Last year (2023) was filled with ideas, writing a grant, fulfilling the mission stated in the grant (written to RiversGives for the DP Art Guild in Des Plaines) and making the project happen. It took up most of the year….and kept me away from my own journey as an artist – on a personal level. It…
